Overview

The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking a Specialist to perform technical support and data management for the administration of Medicaid waiver programs and for the Medicaid and Data Analytics Division.  The nature of work will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Maintain accurate data in Cuyahoga DD software packages and with primary data sources such as DoDD pertaining to the enrollment and management of HCBS waivers and community supports, including processing Level of Care and Notification of Change in Status.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff regarding HCBS waiver documents, data systems and other Cuyahoga DD software packages.
  • Assist with data entry tasks, including updating demographics, employment and community alternative locations, maintaining provider site assignments, funding sources, and assessment updates to ensure compliance with Waiver Rule and management.
  • Assist with processing authorizations and ISP validation, including some non-Medicaid services as well as prior authorizations. Provide relevant reporting related to tracking prior authorizations and Waiver Enrollment deadlines.
  • Administrative tasks related to Medicaid benefits, such as processing enrollment and renewal packets, Medicaid verifications and notifications for at-risk benefits, and entry of Medicaid Eligibility effective dates. 
  • Preview SA paperwork to ensure appropriate submission of documents associated with HCBS waivers and non-Medicaid funding.  Notify and work with SA to resolve errors.
  • Participate in the Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) Program in accordance with DODD rules and regulations and guidance from Cuyahoga DD MAC Coordinator.

UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES: Occasional travel to other Cuyahoga DD sites to provide training/technical assistance regarding electronic database. Occasional travel to attend meetings, conferences or specialized training may be required.

SALARY:  The starting salary for Pay Schedule B is $39,615; however, the full range for all current employees in this pay schedule is $39,615 to $63,385.  It is important to understand that the actual starting salary for a new hire into this position will be determined based on many factors including the breadth and depth of the knowledge, skills, education and experiences brought by the candidate.  It is Cuyahoga DD’s intent to pay each employee a salary that is reasonable and competitive based on the market rate for the position, while also considering not only internal equity but also the budgetary constraints.

Remote Work:  Our positions are not 100'% remote.  There is an onsite expectation for all of our positions.  Although we may permit some remote work at home with hybrid work schedules for some of our positions, we do expect staff to be able to commute to our facilities in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on a regular basis.  We have facilities in Parma, Cleveland, and Highland Hills, Ohio. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least 3 years of computer, data management and word processing experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with programs that serve individuals with DD strongly preferred.
  • Valid State of Ohio driver’s license and continued maintenance of an excellent driving record.
