Overview

The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the day-to-day operational management of all aspects of the property to assure maintenance of approved quality standards and oversee the safety and security of all agency facilities and personnel by implementing and maintaining security measures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and acting as a liaison with the appropriate third-party agencies. The nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Assist the Facility Manager in the day-to-day operational management of all aspects of the property to assure maintenance of approved quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the daily security functions for all Cuyahoga DD sites. Develop and maintain Cuyahoga DD security policy and procedures and Security Manual.
  • Manage repairs and maintenance on all equipment and infrastructure and systems such as HVAC, security, and electrical.
  • Manage the facility operations through both direct employees and third-party service providers.
  • Manage the onsite activities of security guard contractors to ensure that armed and unarmed security services are provided in accordance with Security contracts and Cuyahoga DD policy/procedures. 
  • Manage the security alarm responders to ensure that alarm response is provided in accordance with alarm response contracts and Cuyahoga DD policy/procedures, and respond to security alarms when necessary.
  • Inspect buildings, sites and equipment for repair and maintenance work needed.
  • Provide project management assistance for the Facilities Manager on renovation projects.
  • Create and manage inventory systems throughout all sites
  • Work with the Facilities Manager to develop, implement and manage both the long-term strategic budget and the annual operating budget for both operations and security needs to accomplish Cuyahoga DD’s goals.
  • Oversee and coordinate security drills and fire/safety inspections in buildings while organizing/leading emergency response teams.
  • Work with vendors to perform required safety/fire inspections on all buildings and homes.
  • Oversee routine maintenance of digital video recorders, swipe card systems and emergency response devices. Coordinate vendor services in support of this function.
  • Conduct various security-related trainings for staff.
  • Escort staff to home visits when necessary and/or there are security concerns in that area
  • Assistant with the interviewing, hiring, and training operations new hires as well as monitoring performance of staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of specifications and awarding bids for Operations contracts, in partnership with Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of the process of Request for Quotes and/or Request for Proposals as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Liaise and coordinate as project lead for capital improvement project(s) as needed.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Provide direction to on site unarmed security guards and armed responders. 

 

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: 24-hour on call responsibility for security and facilities emergencies. Must be able to attend occasional meetings outside of normal business hours. Will occasionally need to be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience with security and facility operations is required.
  • Experience in security and/or facility operations.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Electronic Security Systems and CCTV preferred.
  • Experience with project coordination, management, and budgeting is required.
  • Electrical, technical and mechanical experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in facility operations ticketing or tracking system preferred.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook required.
  • Valid state of Ohio driver's license and continued maintenance of excellent driving record.
