  • Overview

    The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a full-time manager to direct and control retail store operations and building management, including all supervisory and administrative functions, money management, merchandising, inventory control, customer satisfaction, building security, worker safety, and vocational development.  The nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following: 

    • Supervise, and manage the daily operation of the retail store.  Assign work, supervise completion, and perform all related tasks.  Assume complete responsibility for the day to day operations of the retail store. Supervise all personnel and give direction in all business related operations. Perform maintenance on facility. 
    • Counting cash drawers, totaling daily receipts, making bank deposits, assigning cash drawers to cashiers, closing cash drawers after shift, and cashier voids. 
    • Opening and closing of the store involved in the evaluation process of shift supervisors, and problem-solve all difficulties that arise in the day to day operation of the business. 
    • Perform all purchase functions of merchandise and supplies for the retail store.  Gather information to the customers desires, placing orders in a timely manner, keeping an interesting mix of merchandise and a variety of goods, re-ordering consumable products to keep customer count and average sales high, placing special quantity orders for customers, and offer specials for items that are moving slowly. 
    • Plan and develop promotional and marketing activities in collaboration with CCBDD. Complete all paper work/documentation as defined by the policies of S.A.W., Inc., CCBDD, and franchise agreement. Complete all reports according to required deadlines and specifications. 
    • Responsible for the safe operation of the retail store.  Be sure all safety signs and evacuation signs are posted.  Train all employees to properly use equipment and comply with safety procedures and complete monthly safety checklist.  
    • Receive deliveries and complete receiving reports, display new merchandise, condense existing merchandise, rotate displays in stores to maximize sales, keep sales floor neat clean and organized. 
    • Provide input and information to the employment staff on all rehabilitation issues.  Support the daily employment needs of the workers within the framework of the individual’s plan. Provide regular input and ideas into the development of the program/store.  
    • Responsible for store security, including using monitors and videotape as a means of loss prevention, reviewing videotape to determine origin of shortages, investigate cash registrars shortages. 
    • Responsible for following and using the franchise system as described in the franchise Operations Manual and in the franchise training program.



    • Heavy lifting may be required at times.
    • Longer than normal work hours may be required at times.
    • May need to cover shifts for absent staff. 
    • Responsible for first shift, second shift, and weekend operations.
    • Store is open on some holidays.
    • Position is full-time, but temporary through approximately January 2020


    STORE ASSIGNMENT:  This position is based at our South Euclid, Ohio store.



    • High School diploma required, Associates degree preferred.
    • Three years of experience in retail sales with at least one year in a supervisory position.
    • Certified to provide Standard First Aid and CPR.  Training may be acquired following hire.
    • Eligible to obtain and maintain the State of Ohio DODD Mgmt certification required for the position. 
    • Valid state of Ohio driver's license and an excellent driving record.

    ** Training and Certification will occur immediately following hire.  It is not necessary to have these items to be considered.
